US Post Office

Greetings All. As I sit in front of my computer and read newspapers from around the US, review my bills on line and finally pay my bills online I begin to wonder why I need to walk out to my mail box more than 3 times a week. If I need to get something out quickly to Andy I can go to the Fed Ex shop and have it sent out at a very reasonable cost and Andy will have in 1, 2 or 3 days depending how much I want to spend to get it there. Again, send it at the cost I want to spend.
The day of faxes and scans being legal documents has arrived, so I say use them. I know that not every house hold has a computer. My answer to that is "why not"? Uncle Sam should get one for every house hold and teach the people to use it. It would not cost a fraction of what they are spending now and it will put American to work building, delivering and training our citizen to use it. You could see a great return on invested dollars by shutting the Post Office down to 3 deliveries a week. You may need some workers in for 4 days but the primary mail would go just 3 days. As far as the rest of the days during the week they should compete with Fed Ex or UPS for the individual personal and business mail the people want to choose their cost to send it. I am not sure that this will make the Postal Service profitable or not, but I got to believe the loss will be considerably less and if the publicly operated service could do better then I would shut the Postal Service down.and start counting our profits.
Think about it when have you sent a letter by US Mail? When did you mail a bill payment? I rest my case.
Well everyone take care and think about this thought as a way to make our economy stronger.

Peace out, Papa Stu

Gaming

Well another sleepless night in LaCrosse. I have become a proffessional gdame player and I am starting to get good a several of the games. Although I must admit, The Bejeweled Game and Farkle are very fun and they are the kind of games that you need to go back and play several times a day.

With the internet you can find so many games we used to play back in the 60's and 70's. It was neat to be able to [lay those games on my computer. The times they are a changing.  So if you are a person who can't sleep at night and join me and a couple of my Face Book friends on the on the net playing those computer games during the wee hours of the night.  Peace and Blessing for all of you

Something New

I am trying out Windows Live for my blog.  I am not sure this isa the way to go but we will see.  They say change is good, well with working 35 years in management I certain did deal with change on a daily basis.  Now that I have retired from the business I struggle with change in my life almost daily.  I don’t handle that change very well at all.

This year for the first time in several years I have actually used my fishing license.  I have averaged 1 day a week for the whole fishing season.  It has been a blast as I get to fish with my brothers and my nephew Chris.  Chris is a heck of a fisherman.  He is learning that dad (Jeff) and Uncle Jim (Papa Stu) can still fish and if you give  us enough time we can even catch a few.

We fish out of a 17 foot fishing boat with a135 hp engine on it.  It gets us to places faster then the old 12 ft boat and the 9.5 hp Mercury we had as kids. Although this year the water has been so high that we have done a lot of fishing on the wing dams because the current is so strong.  The water level has drop considerably so this week will be interesting.

If this new way to do my blog works you will see a lot more from papastusblogspot.com Well it is time to go so like my friend Rik Jordan used to say “keep a tight line until we meet again.”  Peace
